Currently, the dynamics of working with drug dependencies has incorporated an innovative concept called Damage Reduction (RD).

When we mention the concept damage reduction we think of health agents handing out syringes so that drug addicts continue consuming.  Is this really RD?

On a simple and scarce knowledge it would seem so, however, applying our ability for research and reflection we can note the valuable criteria of this term.

It is well known from the practice that not all drug addicts can stop consuming despite its extent bodily, psychic, social and family damage.  So, what can we offer those that don’t want or can’t stop consuming?

For them a program has been developed during the last years that intends to reduce the damage associated with injected drugs,  making health equipment available in places that would otherwise be impossible to approach.
