Aggressions

Most women –and often more men- pay special attention to the progress of science that allows them to keep a young and beautiful skin. Research has lately developed lasers and substances that treat in a non-aggressive way the wrinkles, spots and irregularities of the skin with amazing results.

“Skin is linked to the functioning of the rest of the body through small skin blood vessels, through which nutrition and aggressive elements enter the cells.”, explains Dr. Claudia Paiva. (1)

When we speak of toxic elements, we are referring, among others, to tobacco, drugs, unbalanced diets, stress and low water intake, elements that produce free radicals that damage the skin. There are also external factors that damage it, such as ultraviolet A and B rays that alter the cellular DNA. This alteration has repercussions on the vital functions of the skin such as: water retention, skin layer renewal, formation of collagen and elastin, maintain proper lubrication.

Skin, as well as other organs, has mechanisms destined to repair the damage caused by the aggression of internal and external agents, which under balanced conditions would be sufficient. But considering the aggressions on the internal and external level that skin suffers, these mechanisms should be helped by technology and bio-molecular development, which allow us to successfully revert all photo-aging processes.

“The effects of cellular damage are visibly manifested on the skin: there is a dimming of the skin due to an increase of the corneal layer (dead cells) produced by the loss of ability to renew the epidermis; enlarged pores, spots and wrinkles, which are produced by the alteration in the lipid production and the lack of organization of the production of proteins essential for support and elasticity.”
