A recent discussion It is still a topic of discussion whether or not normal nutrition should be modified to improve performance during the intense and prolonged muscle work of sports, these being recreational or competitive. The influence that dietary habits presumably have on the athlete’s physical yield has been such a worry, that the real importance of sports nutrition has been exaggerated. This has lead to the appearance of authentic nutrition superstitions with a strong irrational content; myths, taboos, and sometimes, true dietary mistakes. This situation has even lead to classifying foods in function of what they are going to serve for: In this way, the athlete’s food intake is going to lean towards those foods that supply nutrients supposed to increase muscle volume or better aerobic yield. Which, without a doubt, will determine a diet that lacks other nutritional elements required daily for maintaining general wellbeing, thus unbalancing and lacking the real energy and protein needs for that athlete. Diet advice: two of the main goals for dieting. Exercise and calorie consumption: combined with a diet it can control excess weight. It is better to apply sun block 15 minutes before direct exposure, so it is better absorbed. |
