Different loves

In our last article on infidelity we spoke about the possibility of loving two persons (or more) simultaneously, and of the reasoning that someone would have for explaining this situation. One of those reasons is that we feel we don’t love in the same way, that the love we have for each partner is different. In fact, this is the explanation that some bigamists have, which are generally men. Feminine bigamy is less frequent. Is this real or just an impression, a cultural prejudice?

Stating that bigamists are mostly men might be related to something cultural. Even with work forms, certain occupations allow them to say that they are here or somewhere else and that allows them certain handling of time and therefore the space for having another relationship. But what is true is that most bigamists are men.

During a TV debate on bigamy, a man that had two homes was asked about his attitude towards his children. He simply answered that he taught them that he loved both his women.

The debate could go on, since among the things we can teach children is also the possibility to choose or quit, for example.
