After the World Congress Millions of people around the world suffer some form of allergy that reduces their life quality. Many of them have tried different therapies with different results, and most of them are still expecting a better solution for their health problem. Argentinean doctor Carlos Crisci is the President of the Latin American Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society, and Professor of Immunology and Allergy of the Medical Faculty of Rosario (Argentina). A short time ago, the World Allergy Congress was celebrated in Vancouver, Canada. As an outstanding fact we can mention that a conational of Crisci is the President of the World Allergy Society, Dr. Carlos Baena. Together with a third Argentinean, Dr. Hugo Neffen, who presides the International Asthma Federation (Interasma), they make a strong worldwide leadership of that country in the specialty. “In the World Congress there were news on the therapy, which is probably what people are most interested in, but also on the conceptl”, states Dr. Crisci. “In this aspect, there has been great advance towards the conception of Allergy as a systemic disease. It is not about sneezing, itching or other isolated symptoms.” Collaborated in this article: Dr. Carlos Crisci |
