Loving with control

The occidental way of sexual relations between a man and a woman is machista, specially in Latin societies.  Why?  First because all of our culture is tainted with a certain machismo or male privilege, which is expressed in most activities: economics, politics, work, etc.  Particularly in sexual relations, many couples suffer the male urgency for ejaculation.  Men search for satisfying their needs and believe this is complete with the ephemeral moment of semen emission, which is accompanied by a series of physical and neurological factors known as orgasm.

It is defined as the culmination of sexual pleasure and, in this sense, men associate sexual plenitude with this discharge.  But orgasms also mean “exaltation of an organ’s vitality”, according to the Diccionario de la Real Academia Española.  Can such an exaltation be considered when man can’t even slightly control this function, at the expense of his partner’s satisfaction and on the long run, his own?

The tantric view is very different.  Wisely, it finds plenitude in pleasure on the domain of ejaculation.  It promotes prolonged relations, in which the woman can reach as many orgasms as she wishes.  And, when finally the man decides to ejaculate, his orgasm is not ephemeral but it is rather empowered by a great previous stimulation.
