Let it be told by those who know

Since some time ago the so called generic drugs or medications have gained strength. The global community infers that they play a key role in the new health policies, specially in under-developed countries. But the truth is there haven’t been enough social information campaigns to allow us to consciously choose between these medications and their original versions. Are they really effective? Do they contain the same components as those with factory brands? If so, why are they less expensive?

For answering these and other questions on such a delicate subject, we researched the information handled by the Food and Drug Administration of USA (FDA), because it is considered a worldwide reference (*). In principle, since many people admit to not being sure, we shall see what generic drugs are. FDA defines these medicines as an identical copy to those with factory brands. For that copy to be considered generic, it should have the same doses, safety, power, desired therapeutic effect, intake form and final results. Everything is identical, except for the factory brand.
