For achieving this, many people recur to ancient techniques, mostly of oriental origin (Chinese, Japanese, Hindu, etc.). Among these, one of the easiest to practice and of best results in the prevention of illnesses and the achievement of complete physical and mental wellbeing is Chi Kung. Also named Qi Gong or Chi Gung, Chi Kung is a millenary technique of Chinese origin, which consist on the practice of soft physical exercises accompanied by a breathing technique. When practiced, it is very important to pay attention to the mind’s concentration, since this is the active part of the practice. With a complete coherence with other traditional medical techniques, Chi Kung is based on the existence of a primal force or vital energy: the Chi. This energy is found in all beings, and is in constant movement for maintaining the balance between the opposites: cold and heat, masculine and feminine, etc. When acting on this force’s activity, Chi Kung helps people achieve and maintain this balance, preventing illnesses and, in some cases, helping medicine in curing pathologies. |
